Nice preparation. The sharp-tipped shucker is, in my opinion, more accurate but undeniably more dangerous. It is, naturally, the only one that we use at The Last Parsnip.

@Okamasphere True enough, if the cook's hands weren't clean. I have found in my years in the restaurant business that cooks wearing gloves take more risks (feeling immune) than a conscientious cook with clean hands.

Helpful video. I've only shucked a few oysters and sometimes I find a tiny crab inside the oyster. Newbie question, is the crab edible or do you discard it. Or, do you keep it as a pet, lol?
