This will always be an important song to me. It celebrates the ending of the cold war between the United States and the USSR as well as the tearing down of the Berlin wall which has separated West and East Germany. I was just entering the military in 1990. Imagine your entire life all you had known was the constant threat of aggression from the "other side". Now there is a real possibility of the threat being gone and the world can potentially move forward in peace. This song will always symbolize the brief window of time when it seemed possible,

After world war 2 ended the cruel divide of Berlin East and West. They built a Wall and East Germany was ruled by communists and West was free democracy The song is of hope when they tore it down in 1989. They came back as one people. Much pain had been removed from that Cold War as it was known as.

The very first time I heard this was while watching a Filipino cover band in Singapore. I had been at sea so didn't get to hear it before that. LOVE Scorpions.
