Bought my car with lowering springs. Every bump felt like doing a dirt jump in a horse and carriage. Installed coilovers, now every bump feels like god is carrying me over it.

If you decide to go the lowering spring route, its best to upgrade the struts as well or else you will wear out the OEM shocks prematurely...

You go to car shows ? You track your car ? Your city/neighborhood has bumpy roads ? Get Coilovers.

You just want to be lower? You have smooth neighborhood roads ? You go for random drives or just daily your car ? Get Springs.

If you’re on a budget springs (HR or Eibach) would be best. More than half the price of the cheapest Coilovers. But if you got some money, or your driving a car that looks like you have money, get Coilovers.

Just what I’ve learned from asking people who have had both and reading the comments on the forums

I'm running H&R spring on Koni Yellows. I prefer the simplicity of my setup because my build is centered around daily driven performance.

I’ve had both. Springs first on a MKIV GTI, super mild drop. Then coils on a B6 Audi A4, and now I’m back to Springs (and shocks. H&R with Bilstein shocks), on my MK7 GTI. Coilovers are great. But once dialed in I never fully used them to their full capacity, so springs are great for my needs. It all depends for what you’re coming to use them for.

Lowering Springs 100% if you're on a budget. S/O to my peeps just starting out on a budget. ~

Lowering springs might be cheaper but it will end up more expensive because you will lower the car but the stock shock absorber is meant for the stock height with stock springs and if you lower it, the stock shocks will start to overheat because of the lowered range of motion and they are basically working extra hard.

You all teach me a lot about cars. Including Wheel sizes, and suspension

Keep in mind lowering any car changes the control arm/trailing arm/subframe related geometries, there are aftermarket bushings that can correct these adjustments, or also replacement adjustable control arms, tubular subframes, etc.

I say, just remove the springs completely. Only use your shocks for that nice 👌 lowered stance 😂

please do more videos like this explaining all the other stuff you actually need to install parts! Would be great information for people coming into the car scene and wanting to modify cars (Me being one of them) and not knowing all the extra bits and pieces you need that people dont talk about for install Turbos, Exhaust, Intake, Suspension, Brakes etc. Would be a awesome series imo!

Just spent the weekend installing coil overs and wheels on my 14 Camaro 2lt and see this vid. Still need an alignment but I swear this feels great.

Recently had my car on lowering springs and they worked great! TBH, but I just snagged last week a set of coils of the site along with some federals and some Cosmis xt-006 in white

Most cases I'd say coilovers are- but I bought my G37 on an eibach pro spring kit and it's perfect. It's the exact height I want- performance is good, and my wheel fitment is damn near perfect so no complaints here

Hey now!!! My Fiesta ST has rear torsion and the thing rips, they aren't all bad!! You can even run a coilover set up on it too🤙

About lowering springs, I often hear they can cause OEM shocks to wear out quite prematurely? Now I'm no engineer but that makes sense to me bc you are shortening the range in which OEM shocks were designed to operate? Anyone with actual experience/knowledge care to educate a fellow enthusiast?

I ordered eibach lowering springs and can't wait for them, not a huge drop, but enough for some good looks and a better center of gravity
