Luigi Mangione, Arrested in Connection with UHC CEO Killing

The suspect arrested in connection with the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last week has been identified as Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate from Towson, Maryland.

I find it funny how they want to focus on how he isn’t a hero. I’m not saying that he is, and I’m also not saying that he’s not. I honestly don’t know what he is, but rather than focusing on what shade the shooter’s identity should be, how about pointing out how extreme things like this wouldn’t happen in the first place if the American healthcare system actually did it’s job? The reason why nobody is crying for the CEO is because he was a murderer who got murdered. The only difference between him and any other killer is that the CEO’s weapon of choice was health insurance. So how about talking about pushing some kind of reform? Because Brian easily had more blood on his hands than Luigi currently does now, yet all we hear about Brian from major news outlets was that he was a loving father and yada yada yada. The guy was trading lives for money, and he made bank doing it. We already know the truth about him, so instead of focusing on who’s actually good or bad here, let’s start pushing for regulations so that these big insurance companies can’t continue to trade lives for profit.
