I once met an Orthodox priest in Australia. He told me about his conversion to Orthodoxy and how he came to the Russian Orthodox Church. He was advised that the Russian people and its church are most similar to Europeans/ Australians. Many years later I find myself living in Russia with a Russian wife. I can confirm that Russians are similar to the British or Australians… but I must say they are more stoic and more kind.
