BTW these videos are SOOOO much better than reading a manual and constantly mapping back and forth from manual to Reaper. Videos give the visual and that is EVERYTHING.

This is the most important thing you need to understand about Reaper when you're working with VSTs and its almost impossible to fathom this absolutely essential functionality on the 'official' forum/help. This video has been a real lifesaver - thank you

Possibly the best Reaper tutorial ever. Of course I had to switch the Record Monitoring to On, as others have noted, but that was fairly obvious, and I assume a change since this video was recorded. Thank you!

The clearest video on this topic I could find. Great job! I'll check your other videos, which I hope to find at least half as useful as this one.

Thanks so much for this video, Kenny. I've been struggling with some MIDI tracks that I imported from another program and couldn't get them to respond to volume changes or program preset changes. This should help a lot! Your tutorials are always helpful!

Make sure Monitoring is set to on for every track. This solved every problem I had.

This has been so helpful. Had to dig a little in my relevant instrument, but everything worked a dream. This will save loads of time and CPU!!!! Thanks Kenny!

Trying out Reaper after burnout from cubase and studio one 2. So far good experience; it's a little different than what I'm used to but this tutorial helped me to get the feel of what I liked about my previous DAWs. Thanks for this!

This is the best video on the topic for sure. I don't understand why it's so difficult to find this information as a newbie. ONE THING that was missed here though is, at least for me, in Reaper you need to put Record Monitoring: ON. It's not on by default when making new tracks and made me lose hair when trying to figure out why I'm getting no sound.
