Good job making sure the fighters are okay to continue fighting and not pushing to fight with an injury, it’s only sparring after all 👍

Great Job coach. For people visiting this vid either respectfully learning / genuineky interested in the fight game (and to the haters who act like experts) This is how early sparring should work. Keep it controlled and keep it about learning & improving your fighters style and gameplan with a close eye on safety. Again great job coaching!

Shorter guy has a lot of potential seeing his style. When he gets more comfortable his movements will serve him well defensively. Tall guy looks very solid and composed, gets his punches off well

Perfect example of an inside fighter vs a range fighter. Good work.

After going to a rough gym in a city I hated living in, I took a break from it. My sparring partners were all experienced with fights, some even coming from mma, or, there was one guy who was smaller than me who had a huge ego and was some tournament winner at the state level or something and he did not hold back because I was bigger and that’s an advantage. Yeah, it would be except the coach would tell me not to do things that felt natural to me, which led me to overthinking and being too stiff to just go.

Anyways, what I was trying to say was I really appreciated you putting adequate sparring partners together, and checking on your fighter for a “petty” injury like a jammed thumb. I needed that when I started. I had a “fake” low blow because I had never been hit in a cup before so that discomfort made me want to stop, and the coach didn’t even stop the other guy. He ended up telling this 320lb ex-marine mma fighter to hold back and just use his left, then he punched me in the face with the right and said “fuck sorry instinct”. And the sparring continued.

I wanna see more of this, as I myself have been in similar situations as the smaller guy sparring taller dudes so seeing how he improves over time would be really insightful

Great coaching. I love your concern for their well being...

Although he's a beginner, i like how the shorter guy is very patient and plays with the range against a taller opponent. There is a top Thai kickboxer that does exactly this. So it was cool to see it here as well. Im learning boxing and pretty short so this helps a lot.

Good to see a genuine coach build a fighter, good work coach 👌👊🏻

Both fighters looked clean in there, good work fighters and coach. As a tall guy, I could recommend black shorts to keep pumping his jab to maintain his range. & keep elbows tighter

I would prefer touch sparring or against experienced boxers to know to not hurt them ...
But good job coach

My first time sparring I ended up with a brain bleed because of how hard the guy hit me...I'm glad to see this gym is more responsible.

I don’t box even though I’d like to start learning soon, that being said, watching this makes me think that stamina and foot movement are 2 of the main focuses you want to learn first, as well as head movement and guarding. Actually idk what I’m talking about because just being able to take a punch and remain calm/focused seems like it’s top tier importance as well. Lmk if I’m close someone who actually boxed. Me personally, I feel like I wouldn’t stand much of a chance if I couldn’t fight for more than a few minutes without gassing out.

Coach V, I’m trying to get back into boxing after being away for twenty years. I was physically abused as a child and was also in an abusive relationship. I need to relearn how to spar again so I can heal from my past traumas. How can I relearn how to take a punch and how can I relearn how to spar?

bro this is already a good coach to check on his fighter if he's okay, for me I cross train and my home gym its always one guy wanting to take heads off.
