This is the scene, where Bethany (Linda Fiorentino) asks god, why we humans are here. Metatron (Alan Rickman) said she is funny. And she is.
Yes, God is a woman and played by Alanis Morissette.

P.S. : I think the *boop* shall say: Just for fun! :D

To continue the cycle of creation, like we were created.

Lol, we're here because we just are. No big plan, no higher being created us. It just happened this way.

Hard concept for some people to wrap their head around. Their heightened self-importance requires grand design.

To live and create, to experience....that's it

You certainly shouldn't be relying on a movie like "Dogma" for answers. There are probably more answers to this than we can understand.

But the Bible does began with the claim that God said to Himself, "Let us make man in Our own image." So everything that has transpired is serving that purpose, and presumably nothing has transpired that did not have to happen to serve that purpose. God could not make another like Himself because anything that is like God is God, but he could make things having some of His attributes, and it pleased Him to do so. This meant making things other than Himself which were self-ruled, and since these things would be limited it meant bringing in the possibility of misrule. But this also meant that those who had experienced misrule would then understand, like God, the difference between Good and Evil and some would choose, like God, Good as the better choice.

I think this all had to happen because the only way a non-infinite being could approach God's understanding and wisdom was by experiencing things for themselves. If you aren't infinite, you can only truly understand mercy if you've experienced it. If you aren't infinite, you can only truly understand compassion if you've needed it. If you aren't infinite, you can only understand grief and sorrow if you've felt it. In this way, we will be made in His image.

This may be the most poignant moment in any film. The answer to that question is what you are watching right now. The "Reason" why we're here can only be maintained by the belief in a Higher Power. There is no actual reason, but by imagining ourselves as important and intentionally created, it helps people get through misery that would break you, without it.

My opinion . Our souls are apart of god and some souls aren't so clean so you gotta ween out the bad souls from the good ones. Like how satan was once pure but is now the literal embodiment of all that is evil . So god sends you down to earth so you can live a life to determine if you still belong with god or need to be cast aside to the fiery/dark pits of hades/hell/underworld.
