Nothing more to add, I've recently married it with zeiss 35 2.8 and this is the game changing setup for me. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Sony mirrorless was the gateway camera that got me hooked into vintage lenses, it's one of my TOP THREE cameras I"ve used that has changed "my life as I know it". Bolex 16mm (first time shooting film) Canon XL1 (First grown up camera and camera I used to launch my production company) and A7SII (vintage lenses)

I just bought (Oct. 2019) an A7 II with (863) actuations boxed with a 28-70mm Sony EF lens and Sony grip with 2 $850.00 US on

Trying to decide between A7ii and A7rii. My use is landscape, architecture, portraits, street, getting into astro and from time to time video. I think I can get by with the A7ii for the value, but wondering if in 2020 it’s better to spend the extra $400 for better low light, cont eye AF, and more focus points. Don’t really need the 42MP and 4K, although it would be nice just to have and future proof

The only downside is low light AF and tracking. Both can be greatly relieved with a proper parameter setup.

Battery life can be greatly fixed also, namely shutting screen down and sticking to viewing saved images through the viewfinder. That’ll double the images.

Finally, if you want solely stills, this camera is exceptional.

PS - the menu system, although, for price/ features, can be overlooked and mastered quickly enough

The eye auto-focus, even though not continuous, is still good enough for photography.

I recently got the A7ii, and i think its magnificent. I only shoot portraits and mostly with sufficient light. I have yet to see a review that states that th A7iii produces better images than it. A7iii has battery, better autofocus and 4k.... which doesng necessarily impact the image quality.

From a portrait photographer perspective?? Would it be worth it to eventually move up to the A7iii for images only?

Great video. I have a question. I own the a6400 and shoot mainly still photography for all travel purposes, no video at all.
If you are me, would you upgrade to an entry full frame or keep the current a6400? In your opinion, which would make a better still photography camera for travel?
By the way, it's currently going price is $899 USD.

I've been shooting with a6000 for almost 2yrs. Primarily landscape and street. Debating between a7ii vs a7rii. I know I can grab a7ii cheaper. A7RII for approx $900-$1100
