This is an experimental home made instrument. It's design is inspired by the regular electric bass and the contrabass.

I found the wiring diagrams for the pickup here:

I also used an online fret calculator to find and mark the fret positions. You can find it here:

The video is really good, but for the love of god, you can't use the same short track over and over and over again, because it annoys people alot

You really have my full respect, people like you show how things can be done; with hard work. I hope you have a great time with your Bass Guitar. I'm amazed of what you have done, don't stop.
Greetings from a big fan of you

I enjoyed your video. Am planning to make a 2 string bass out of a canoe paddle.

you have a loose ground somewhere, try grounding the potentiometers to ground because they can cause ground hum. if it still doesn't go away, replace the input jack and the main volume control on the amplifier. if it still hums, change out the cable with the power off and try a different source.

I have never thought of using a straight edge with a burning tool. So simple, but genius

Another very cool project. I've been putting it off but I think you have convinced me to try building one of these. Thanks for posting it and please keep the musical projects coming.

you're a very talented man and enjoyed watching that. was looking for something slightly less complicated though. i'm not good at woodwork, if i tried that i'd most probably have no fingers left to play bass at the end of it

Nice job! Little tip to remove that buzz from the amp, apply shielding to the control cavity and the underside of the cover with aluminium tape and connect the shielding to ground by using a screw as a crimp. Make sure that whilst applying the strips of aluminium tape, one of the edges from a strip is bent backwards, then applied on the previous strip applied to make a continuous connection between the strips. I use this technique for shielding guitars which i make. True, copper tape is better but using aluminium tape is a cheaper alternative whilst achieving the same goal plus aluminium tape is more available than copper tape :)
