Love the nail varnish. Adds even more glamour and magic to an already special show. I've never seen LEDs that size before. Looks like they came from a power station or a bulldozer.

I just love the way you put it; "Buying a cheap and nasty soldering iron makes you think you are bad at soldering". Being the nerd that I am, I would have started yapping on and on and given a million technical reasons why you should get yourself a proper soldering iron to begin with. But there is no need for all that technobabble, just name top reason... like you did.
Brilliant Maddi... simply brilliant!

I am enjoying your videos so much. Don't let negative people bring you down. Any woman, man, etc has a right to do what their heart desires and yours is electronics. You got me so hooked. I finally figured out how to get a potentiometer working. Also I like your joystick project so much that I have placed it on my website. Hopefully that will get more attention for you as I have a good standing on YouTube for the Commodore 64. It's all about networking. Keep smiling, working hard. People are watching and appreciating what you bring to the table. (especially the solder tips). Smart lady. :)

The soldering paste I use is plumber's solder flux for copper water pipes. I've never had any problem with it and it always makes clean solder joints. My solder is flux-core and often works fine on its own, but sometimes I need to brush on a little extra flux when something doesn't want to let solder stick to it.

That's very good advice regarding getting a good tool right off the bat, rather than buy something cheap and crappy that'll not do the job correctly. I'm already pricing some of the Hakko soldering stations online, thanks to your advice!

And now I also want Lithuanian pasta for some reason! 😝

By the way... I'm starting a "Pi in an Amiga power supply case" project on your inspiration... I already got a beautifully conserved and clean power supply case... I'm trying to figure out how to position stuff in there as I'd like to have mounted connectors instead of cutting out the case to access the Pi connectors and also add an internal 5V 3A power supply board... Don't know how it will turn out, but thanks for the inspiration!!!! <3

Wonderful, as always! :) I think I mentioned it before in some conversation we had, but I use a WEP 937D station. Not sure what the difference is, other than size. Mine is like 1/3 smaller than yours. Hmm, I also have flux paste, but haven't used it in ages. And my paste looks different. It's not clear like yours, but solid brown color. Mine is probably lower quality.. :o)

5:45 - Sweet mother of..!! That's bad. I only thought The Hulk, or whatever, could damage a drill like that. Had to see that twice. :)

Recommendations regarding soldering stations, buy a used branded one and buy a new iron if needed. I've got my Weller WSD 81SE for nothing, including the pen/iron ;)

This may be a dumb question, but with higher temperature soldering irons, isn't there a risk of damaging the electrical components with too much heat? I don't do a whole lot of soldering, mainly because I don't really know much about electronics and I only have a cheap iron. Actually it looks like the one at 1:30. It only melts solder on one side of the tip and doesn't even get hot enough to solder heavier wires, like an electrical cord. That said, I've accidentally melted things with it, like the plastic that the pins are mounted in, in the DB9 connectors, the insulation on wires, etc. I do understand what you mean about a cheap tool making you think you're bad at soldering. Of the few simple projects I've made, my solder joints are usually pretty ugly.

Also, am I mistaken, or does your schematic contain the symbols for diodes on each of the connections right next to the resistors?

Great video as usual =D One thing that's puzzling me after watching the video, I have the strange urge to eat some Pasta from Lithuiania...

nice to see part duex.
with a nice soldering tutorial up-front.
i also dont use flux together with fluxcore solder, but i think maybe i should, because it does add some convenience apparently.

O M G you scared the creaps out of me😱, when you did that Demolition Drill Demo. i was really concerned about your hand for a moment. please! don't do that again Maddi.
it wasn't only the screwdriving driller thing, but the drill bit itself was also pretty flimsy.

and you also made a nice new intro for "Ms Maddi's diy circuit solder Circus"

18:38 are you messing up our psychic timeline again. :P

yeah, you have to get an good night sleep sometimes. do you experience some kind of insomnia/wakefulness. or do you just forget the time⌚ like me sometimes, when you are goofing around and being creative💡.

does the terminal pins add something in this situation? maybe you could leave them away, but on the otherhand maybe not.
Edit: i already did read your comment on this same question asked by amigiac. 😳 sorry.

cant wait for part tree.👍

Loved your mention :) We're however not talking about the same thing. Flux is a liquid thing, paste does not work the same way. Here's some flux. As opposed to paste, you'll see you need much more and it behaves way differently. Flux and oil makes the tin stick to the components and not dragging over from joint to joint (on connectors, paste is fine, I agree).
