Living donation is one thing - to be an organ donor once declared "brain dead" is something else. This is an other misleading ad for organ donation. Before you become a donor, please research the topic! No one in the know talks openly about the procedures. e.g. People declared 'brain dead' are far from dead. The body is kept on life support until harvested. Muscle relaxants are used as a rule (otherwise operating wouldn't be possible). To my knowledge only in Switzerland it is law to use general anesthesia. After the organ harvest - a donor is worth 500.000 to one million Euros- the now very dead body has clenched jaws and hands, children's hair often turned grey or white. I did a thorough research since my mother was transplanted. I felt I owe the world my organs. I changed my mind after I found out what it really means!
