Love this and gruul is definately a good place to start. I'd hesitate to say that Goldspan will hold up because it rotates out of standard in Sept though. Otherwise this is a great starter vid!

I have played magic for 15 years now and I still watched the damn thing :D
Always handy to have a "tutorial" at the ready when it's required and now I know where to look.

I haven't play MTG for a very long time... I played in 2000's (and even at that time I was only a casual beginner player) but green and red combo in my memory are really the most straight forward color in MTG... Green with creatures and Red with instant/spell/sorcery... My first deck was mainly in white... and oh boy... back then It took me a while to get a grip on it lol

I wanted the Grul Stumpy deck but then checked the cards 😅😅😅 none of them are Werewolves... I saw the Art on the outside of the box and that's what I wanted😂... REALLY disappointed WOW 👎

I love using my zombie horde deck to teach fellow Planeswalkers how to play! It's a 3 to 5 player team up that takes out a 150 cards of 🧟‍♂️zombies

Extremely good video! More of a fairly seasoned player (although not too much, my first set was Mirrodin Besieged, but started to actually play with the first Theros) but if I had had this it would have helped a lot. I too think that newer players shouldn’t start with commander, although that’s what most of them want. I think it can be a bit overwhelming and you skip learning some very important aspects of the game that aren’t as obvious.

All of this just because I want to say: you deserve way more people watching you!

Id say If a new player can find the original Commander legends commander decks for a reasonable price those are very good pickups still as they have some very good cards in them, especially the Reap the tide deck.

My first Magic cards was the first infect deck, black-green, during Scars of Mirrodin... I took a liking to infect ever since, and everyone hated it. Don't get infect as your first deck lol
