Learn the MAJOR pentatonic scale on guitar! This shape appears to be identical to Shape 4 of the Minor Pentatonic; however, the difference lies in the SCALE Degrees.

The MAJOR Pentatonic Formula is shown at the top of the diagram, starting from the 3 for this shape (3 - 5 - 6 - 1 - 2) as you make your way up and down the shape. Pay close attention to these Scale Degrees, as they are what help us USE the Shapes to Create and Improvise. Each scale degree or number that you see in the shape corresponds to a sound or interval from the scale. More on this in future videos!

This scale is used by Experienced Pros to create some of the Greatest Guitar Solos in Music History, but it’s also perfect for beginners and anyone wanting to improve their lead playing, improvising, song-writing, or just learning the fretboard!
