ELM327 OBDII Interface Android Pairing

This video explains how to pair a ELM327 based OBDII interface to an Android device via bluetooth. I'm using the Torque app with the interface.

Are you using torque Pro, or the free version.
Is the Free version any good?

Question, my ELM327 arrived in ADHOC mode (stupid) for 6 years i would use it searching non stop for an STN or Infrastructre mode or Version of the product, one day i decided to see if port 80 is open, it was (HTTP GUI), i switched it to Station mode, i entered SSD, Encryption (WPA2PSK CCMP) and the key ( even kept a screen shot) the ELM327 connects a few seconds to the AP and disconnects. I made sure the AP is set to the same Encryption type, and key... I even set a static/Fixed in the ELM327 .. Any tips? The unit is close to AP, tried many APs, legacy, wrt54g, dd-wrt. different channels. no go .

The device can pair with only one device or program. You need to pair with the program your using.

This did not work for me. I had a 327 mini which I lost but just got a new one which will not show up on Torque. I have spent several hours today trying to get it to work. Wondering if the unit is defective.

I replied further down the thread but thought I might post this in the main thread.
I tried this solution but it didn't seem to work for me.
However, when I went back to bluetooth settings I saw an extra connection just labeled OBDII, beneath a previous name I don't remember, it did have OBD in the name but..., clicked connect and the screen came up for a paring code, it suggested 0000 or 1234. 0000 didn't connect but 1234 did. All was fine after that.

I bought a ELM327 Wifi interface from a Chinese seller on Ebay. I guess it was a clone module. It appeared to connect with my Android table Wifi only after I changed the setting for it to a static connection. But I was not sure of the entries since I did not receive the manual. I followed other instructions off the net. Yet I could not connect with apps Torque Lite, Dash Command nor Scan Master. They all gave error.
So I tried the method shown here but my module was Wifi not bluetooth. Still no luck. At least seller was kind enough to offer refund. Scan Master has trouble shooting info that says Android systems cannot connect with OBD2 modules using Wifi. Must use bluetooth method.. So now I know.... Ugh!

My phone wont pick up the obd at all with bluetooth .i tryed everything.it does with WİFİ but not bluetooth

Didn't work for me. To start, I plugged in the Torque ELM 327 with the car off. I then plugged in the unit but the Android Bluetooth didn't recognize it and when I started Torque, I get, "No Bluetooth device selected!" and that's as far as I got. Any ideas? Thanks for listenintg!
