I especially like the bit about empathy being a form of wisdom. One of the biggest criticisms I hear about Keyleth is that she has a high wisdom, but isn't always "wise". While she isn't always "old man on the mountain" wise, she has tremendous empathy.

Wisdom is also Common Sense. As a GM I let high Wisdom characters ask "Is this a dumbass idea in context of the game?" to do a sanity check (real world, not mechanical) on parties' plans.

I appreciate these videos. My biggest complaint about RPGs has always been that the physical stats are imaginary, but the mental stats are limited by whatever the player can bring to the table.

This is great! I'm currently playing a goblin cleric that isn't stereotypically "wise" so this is unbelievably helpful

Hope there will be also shorts for roleplaying low int, wis, or cha! (low dex or con too!! The low scores really make a character fun :-)

This has always been hard to differentiate between my own intellect and wisdom vs my characters. I find that i’m usually asking questions above what my character would.

A series about the reverse would be cool: what does it mean having a low wisdom? Is it just not being perceptive or is there more to it? Maybe more gullible. I would love to hear your tips!

I love high wisdom characters because I feel like I can relate to them the most, they always seem the most kind and in tune with the world around them. At least that’s how I like to play them. Great advice Ginny :D

I like how this video is also giving tips to how to play a character with low Wisdom score by simply doing the opposite.
Since my actual character is a high INT and low WIS, i needed that to make better roleplays during sessions. So thank you!

I'm planning on playing a Ranger who got washed up on a desert island and ended up with the habit of talking to herself to stay sane-ish. Asking loads of questions about the surrounding environment sounds like a good way to keep that stream of consciousness commentary going.

I like the thought of wisdom being translated as empathy, since its used for perception for how and why people are behaving a certain way it makes sense. It helps me think about my own character too

I play a wizard with both high intelligence and high wisdom but because he’s old and set in his ways he is often extremely “unwise” in a sense as he’s basically used all his amazing wisdom earlier in life and thinks that he knows everything and there’s no point bothering with trying to adapt when he’s clearly already outsmarted everyone even when he clearly hasn’t.

As one who loves playing the Cleric, I felt this video on a spiritual level.

I had an alchemist with incredible intellect... and a -2 (sometimes exacerbated to -3) score to Wisdom. He'd have a conversation with his bomb in the midst of a Listen check, failed his save against every Will saves in his carreer, even Sleep despite being an half-elf ( my bad, I forgot my immunity but it made sense with the character), and would consistently fail to consider any safety hazard in his (otherwise genius) experiments.

At higher level, he had a spell that would give him massive buffs and healing if he was gravely wounded, but each activation had a mental toll, dealing 1d4 Int and Wisdom damage, with Con damages (and even a Save Or Die) if activated twice in a day. I *did* use it twice in a day one a least one occasion. ("It's OK, I have prepared Restoration too.") And I rolled high on those Wisdom damage. How high? I reduced my ability score to 0 and passed out. XD

"My wounds close, and my muscles begin to swell as I get a magical second wind!! ...until, I begin foaming at the mouth, my eyes roll back and fall inert on the floor."
