The difference between EUCs of different sizes

If you're new to monowheels, it can be hard to understand what the difference is between small and large or heavier wheels. Is a 18" better than a 16" wheel?

Actually the difference in feeling was much bigger than I had expected it to be, when I tried out some other people's e-wheels. So in this video I'll explain why EUC's feel different and which one you'd want for which purpose. Because most reviewers don't really tell you about the main, general differences between different wheels (but you will really notice them).

01:15 - How to understand this

Thanks! An interesting and informative video. I’m currently on a V8f, which was my starter wheel, and now moving on to a V12. The V8 series are such good general purpose wheels, and a great learner wheel because they are light and responsive. Anything else afterwards seems very stable and planted. I’ve subscribed…so keep up the content. Many thanks! 👍

Sherman is the only wheel I’ve tried… and learned on grass 3 months ago in British Columbia… it meant the wheel couldn’t be damaged.

I’m 82kg and am aware of the 1/2 rule with regards to influencing the pendulum affect of hips steering and also took a couple of days to really understand how to exploit the single peddle stand and start on city traffic light changes with cars.

If the Sherman was 1, 500 dollars to acquire you’d see many people starting on this wheel because it offers such a constant curve of skill growth …for instance on my first day I did 95km distance in casual riding and would have done more but it was dark… nighttime riding was 2 weeks later when I invited 2 people along for a tour to a local ferry terminal and small island ride for that day that concluded with a 130km journey with a short top up charge of about 30mins

The size dose apply unique advantages and a roll cage that came in handy on the off road potion of the ferry terminal journey

Your YouTube is wonderful and I’m excited to hear more about your v11 journey and what wheels you have also come accustomed to 😮❤

Great video I mised the fact that bigger wheel diameter also makes the ride smoother not onley because of the bigger aire volume but also because a bigger wheel (like a monster) has a les big angel on a bump.

Wish more would also talk about the accessory availability when talking about wheels. How many tires fit. Who makes pedals or bumpers etc. seems like certain models have way more options.

Torque is important to make an euc feel light.

I have tried the Commander HT and with the immediate acceleration, it feels lighter than the Sherman and Sherman Max. But it has a lower top speed.

personally for EuC i like big wheel like a normal sized motorcycle wheel but needs to be light weight design, but if were talking speed its more on voltage rating and but for the long range endurance a high Amperage is needed

Begode makes a lot of models. The MCM5 is a 14 inch wheel (their second smallest) with good torque, decent range, not a speed demon, and light enough to be carried up a set of stairs to a third floor walk up or to sit on your lap on a bus. Its been called the king of the last mile commuters. The round convex case is surprisingly impact resistant. That last quality is the first to go with high performance wheels. We are constantly bombarded with promises of the latest and greatest which will be the longest range, fastest, with the best suspension and seat. Engineering is not merely the art of compromise, but the art of ranking specifications. Would you buy a $10 wheel that would climb pikes peak, go 200 miles on a charge and 100 mph. You cant have any of those specs today. Its like the couple that bought a sedan instead of a sports car so that they could take other people with them, an event that happened only once in 20 years. Or like the widow lady who bought a 5 bedroom house so she would have room for everyone at thanksgiving. Hint: scale down the house (save on taxes), ditch the cleaning lady and hire a banquet hall for thanksgiving dinner. If she ends up with 25 grandchildren, she needs to hire a bigger banquet hall, not buy a bigger house.

Also does wheel center mass location make it feel different riding ?
