Hey my friend, I just now saw your video. That was pretty awesome showing the kilts. We might have to try and make that festival next year.

The Reason I didn’t watch it when it came out is because the last three weeks have been super hectic. Three weeks ago CARLA had rotator cuff surgery so has been unable to do much of anything and I’ve even had to give her a sponge bath at one point and I’ve done a lot of the cooking, and other chores she normally does. And then to make things even more busy I took on the taping and finishing of a new drywall Job in a basement because my Level 5 tools sponsor sent me a full set of taping tools for free so I wanted to demonstrate them. And another of my sponsors sent me about $1000 worth of corner bead and patching products from straight flex. So I’ve been working on that job a lot, shooting tons of video with the help of my friend and coming home exhausted and then doing extra chores around the house so I haven’t watched a lot of YouTube.

And CARLA caught a misspelling on your wood sample wall. She pointed it out to me and she was right, your wood sample of Mesquite is spelled with an A on the wall but with An E on your sheet, lol. You do things like I do, lol. If we didn’t make mistakes we wouldn’t be human.

I don’t deal with too many exotic woods but if I ever come across something cool I’ll let you know and see if you have it.

Thanks for the shoutout my friend

That is a great collection and a great idea. As an Australian, I had to chuckle when I saw your one sample, labelled 'eucalyptus'. An entire genus with over 700 species. At the woodshows here there is a society which displays a huge collection of woods. Australia has hundreds of species that are suitable for timber. However most are either protected or not sufficient for commercial use. Australia is a dry continent and so many of those trees grow small and extremely slowly. I think your sample wall is a great idea.

That my friend is a wonderful collection. Would love to help you out with it but the trees around here are kinda boring lol. Hope you have a great day and stay healthy 😊

Impressive wood sample collection, just wish I could add to it. That 3D puzzle at the Ren Faire looks like a hoot. It looks like a blast. On to number 3, you've been working overtime pushing them out.

Wow, I love all of the samples! So many great species with beautiful grains! I wish there was somewhere I could buy even half of these. At best, local places have maybe 12 or 15 species.

Impressive collection you have already, I wish I had some special samples to send you, nothing really different than what you can get in USA, good luck with your project Doug !!!

Such a marvelous collection! Have you ever heard of lignum vitae the wood of life? It's supposed to be one of the densest hardest woods in the world. I wish I had a log of that. I just noticed it is on your list! Very cool man!

Hi Doug! Could you take a good still shot of that list? I doubt if I have anything to add to your wall, but you never know. Perhaps you are missing a Canadian wood species!

Also Orange Agate is misspelled on the wall sample.

On the wood species list, what is the difference between # 2, African Mahogany, and # 70, Mahogany African? What is the difference between # 24 and # 25, which are both Bolivian Rosewood?

So I think I might have some Pignut Hickory and some Northern Tulip Poplar that I'll be cutting up soon if you'd be interested, I don't think I saw those on the list. I'm hoping to find tulip poplar that has purple and green hues to it is the idea for me at least but I expect there to be a lot of variation with the logs I'll be cutting.

Nice collection and hopefully it keeps growing. You may want to bone up on your French pronunciation on your next rip to Montreal. Sorry I couldn't help myself.

Your sample of Mesquite is spelled correctly on your paper list but is misspelled on your wall sample.
