Apple's New Next-Gen CarPlay is Finally Here!

Aston Martin and Porsche today previewed the first vehicle dashboards with support for Apple's next-generation CarPlay experience, which launches in 2024, according to a Car and Driver report spotted by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Aston Martin confirmed that it will release its first vehicles with next-generation CarPlay in 2024, including an updated DB12 sports car, but it's unclear exactly when in the year this will happen. Porsche did not provide a timeframe or reveal any specific details.

I just bought the Kia EV9. I didn't expect Apple Maps navigation to appear in the HUD, but it did! It seems simple, sure, but it made me slightly hopeful for deeper (next-gen) CarPlay integration haha.

I think they said the first vehicles would be announced in 23, not necessarily released

I rented a new BMW that displays the CarPlay map inside the instrument cluster, above the steering wheel. So when you display something else on the screen, like Music or non-CarPlay, the map still displays.
