This is why they should have designated transport routes specifically for hazardous chemicals. Particularly a route that avoids going by any populated areas... This could have been avoided if they had a better system for transportation set up long before this happened

The general public was against railroaders going on strike, calling them greedy and lazy. Railroad craft workers have been warning about the dangerous cuts to man power and the short cuts around safety being made but were ignored.

I was a volunteer firefighter many many years ago. And training they said that the stuff that comes through on real cars would blow Your Mind. I think one of the reasons was that they try not to advertise too much what's going through in case somebody wanted to do something very stupid. Example, If someone knew very Toxic chemicals, like the ones in Ohio, were on the train tracks all that would take is a well placed truck.
