There is talk that the cars that are crushed all represent the different stages of grief as well, you can look into it further yourselves if curious, I forget which ones represent which.

This was my favorite movie when I was a kid. I saw it as an adult and was shocked at how dark and adult it's themes are. This is probably my favorite animated movie.

Did you know that this movie wasn't aimed for kids? Well, the directors didn't have a demographic in mind, but their distributors thought that this movie should be aimed at young adults and people in college. A lot of kids did watch it tho, and they've been since traumatized (me included).

I did notice that as a kid and I'm just now learning how much this tiny detail adds to the horror and helplessness of this whole scene. It always made me uncomfortable to watch this, but the nightmare scene even moreso. These were the two scenes that they wanted to cut from the movie but they left them in anyways
