Overthinking this but: Galbaki's suit wasn't damaged as in torn to shreds, rather the seams between the sleeve and the bodice came undone. Galbaki designs and constructs like any other real-life designer, with advanced textiles but traditional techniques.
Edna's suits seem to be almost a single piece from head to toe with accessories on top (boots, gloves, mask and underwear). There's no seam lines between the sleeves and bodice, it's almost a second skin. The materials she uses are leagues ahead than the woven-like fabric in Galbaki's work, she actually researches and develops new materials and fabrics (as we saw in the first movie) according to her clients' needs and abilities.

I like how they even put in the detail that the new suit is more fabric looking and looks like it could rip easier. While the OG suits look almost rubbery.

Ednas suits being indestructible is part of the reason the capes were such a big problem, because they wouldnt tear off and that caused things like... a plane turbine pulling in a hero instead of cutting up the suit.
