My mother would sing to me Beatles songs almost every morning until I was around age 5 or 6. This was one of my favorites. Mary’s voice took me back to those beautiful memories of my youth. So grateful for that!

Gave me shivers, love your lower register, it brings out another side of the song

Mary! I rarely post because I feel it’s not important, however you showed your true love and colors in this one… and the song choice and your timbre … simply perfection… absolutely beautiful! You mesmerized me & likely many when you went into the middle eight, coming out with a smile and a beautiful soulful voice! Geez…! The world is waiting for you to drop an album. We don’t be care if it’s a small EP or a full-on LP. I just want to hear your compositions, girl. My best mates and many other nerd musicians like me are here for this! You! I’m sending you love and 🤗 from Nashville; the world is waiting with baited breath for your OG music career! I’m certain that if you can travel to the states, specifically Tennessee…. The Nashville audiences will adore your songwriting, talent and charm! Cheers friend! This is what you were made for… thank you for sharing the gift you have!

Sounds very sensual in that vocal register, lovely version of one of the most played Beatles songs..

As long as ears exist, the music of The Beatles will continue to be played and enjoyed, and it will continue to inspire future writers and musicians.

Your clean and smooth tone is so refreshing. Very ear appealing.

My first memory of ever having any interest in guitar is from around age 3 or 4. At that age, I was a miserable sleeper. My dad, who played fingerstyle, would come into my room bleary-eyed in the dead of night with his old acoustic. He'd sit on the edge of the bed and play/sing a handful of songs to get me to calm down and fall back asleep. Blackbird is the most memorable song for me out of that repertoire. As such, it has for me always been closely associated not just with my love for guitar, but with my father's love for me. I'm really glad you covered it.

I was at a bar in 1980 where a guy was playing Blackbird on a Martin D-45. I was inspired to learn it and still play it often.

It's such a relief to hear such a nice voice after a long day. ✨👏🏾

I like the way I can hear that 'um-chucka-um-chuck' rhythm as you strum - very Paul!

Guitar-player since 1971, here to draw attention of guitarists and non-guitarists to one (of many) understated bits of mastery in this video: Mary’s left hand, the one chording up and down the guitar neck. Blackbird demands a bit of a workout from the chord hand, but you wouldn’t know it watching this video. Mary’s fingers dance lightly across the strings with grace, rendering clean, distinct chords with slight finger movement: precise yet tender, deliberate yet delicate. No distracting flinches or string-swipes, no outward appearance of stress or effort. That’s where I found Mary’s Blackbird today, perched happily at the intersection of Art and Mastery.
