Do you know the boar that provided enough meat for all of Valhalla? Sæhrimnir was a boar that was cursed to provide endless meat and to be extremely tasty. Whenever a piece of it broke off, it would grow back within hours and the boar would be healthy again.

According to Norse legends, Snorri, Chief of the Gods, served Sæhrimnir to all the gods in Valhalla every morning. He would cut the Sæhrimnir and cook it in a large boiling cauldron.

Odin was the only one who did not eat the flesh of Sæhrimnir, because he was a god who lived only on liquid. Wine was both food and drink for him. As for Sæhrimnir, he was never worthy to die, he had been cooked and eaten too much.
