I peeked into my crystal ball and seen a new DC brake system that you can update to new brake modes by downloading firmware updates. It would seem this is the next step in the DC evolution.

Japan got a the same reel but with idc5 😆 and its already out. Guess they advertising the cheaper stuff

JDM 22 SLX DC XT uses I-DC5 with Micro-Module and X-Ship technologies, but 23 SLX DC still uses I-DC4, are you kidding me, what is the value of this update?

Shimano and daiwa are doing pretty stupid stuff. Who thought it was a good idea to do slx xt dc which has idc5 and this just goes back to idc4. They should've just made the new curado 200dc mgl III and idc5. Honestly who needs a dc for a 70 sized reel.
