Показать описание
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, being its inaugural chair released on its website on April 6 2022 a joint effort with the international community leaders to launch the Global Task Force on Refugee Labor Mobility, Expand refugee access to third-country and plans to create pathways for refugees and displaced people around the world.
The Task Force will build momentum for labor complementary pathways for displaced people around the world.
Only about 1% of refugees have access to resettlement, leaving millions of people in limbo.
Canada, Australia, UN Refugee Agency and International Organization meets to discuss the transformative potential of refugee labor mobility initiatives.
Canada will continue to be a global leader in attracting international talent to fill skilled labor shortages and drive post-pandemic economic recovery.
Labor complementary pathways are intended to expand the number of pathways available for skilled refugees to immigrate abroad.
The Task Force will engage with global stakeholders to increase the number of skilled refugees welcomed to Canada and decrease labour shortages where Canada needs it most.
This initiative builds on Canada's Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP), a ground-breaking program that recognizes the skills and abilities of refugees by removing barriers and helping them immigrate to Canada.
The Task Force will document its work and successes and outline policy and operational considerations for the scaling and institutionalization of these pathways for Refugees around the World.
The UK government's Global Task Force on Refugee Labour Mobility is to examine ways of facilitating the admission of skilled refugees through alternative and innovative pathways.
Labour complementary pathways will increase the attraction and retention of newcomers in regions with acute economic, labour and demographic challenges.
The work of the Task Force will help bring immeasurable contributions of immigrants to our communities and all sectors of the economy.
