Imagine knowing you are the greatest athlete at whatever you sport you want at a young age and not letting it get to your head.

Bo Jackson is like all those Chuck Norris jokes, but facts.

"Bo, we heard you ran to the sun." Bo: "No, I only made it as far as Venus..."

"Let a kid be a kid." such wise words. If they have fun playing all kinds of sports then let em. But don't let them be so stressed that they can't enjoy it

Vincent Edward "Bo" Jackson had he not been injured would have probably been the first athlete ever in the NFL and MLB Hall of Fame.

Mr Jackson is more than a great athlete, much more. He is an intelligent, thoughtful man. He dealt with a catastrophic injury with grace. He is a gentleman that young men should aspire to be like.

NCAA is worthy of being hated.

A thousand years from now archeologists will discover Bo’s petrified shoe in an ancient Alabama flood plain, and it will be the wonder of the world.

Early 2000’s at a store in Auburn. Walking down an aisle and Bo turned the corner and was coming right at me. My childhood hero coming right at me....look up and say “ you the man, War Eagle.” His response? “No you the man, War Eagle” cool moment

To this day… Mr Jackson remains one of the greatest role models for the youth. My personal story is one of witnessing prime “Bo” standing in a parking lot for seemingly hours after a baseball game signing every kids’ memorabilia while the bus waited. There couldn’t have been less than 200 kids there chanting this man’s name. Its been 30 years since that night that has been burned into my memory. Mr Jackson, thank you for being amazing.

Everyone in the comments is focused on the stories of Bo’s athleticism, but are sleeping on the most amazing part of him as a person. He’s giving back. He’s not sitting around like royalty with an arrogant personality. He’s offering help and support to young athletes of today. He wants guys to be even better than he was. To me, that’s what makes Bo Jackson a legend.

I'm in my 60s and Bo Jackson is my favorite athlete. Raw talent, no steroids, just an incredible athlete. Always a pleasant sounding man as well.

I got to meet this guy in my church, and he was just as humble back then as he is now.

Bo, we heard one time you were stranded on an island and you killed a tiger with your bare hands and survived for 40 days

Bo: no I didn't, I killed a bear and it was 35 days not 40
