Traveling through the Badlands on a dirt bike and camping right outside of the park was such an amazing experience - one I will never forget!

We originally planned on traveling through North Dakota during our cross country road trip, but I'm so glad we changed our mind last minute and got to witness the beauty of this very unique national park and state! Stay tuned for the next episode where Josh and I explore Deadwood and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

What about a back trailer for the bike? Then in bad weather he can just hop inside and load it up. I would suggest getting a second helmet because some states require everyone to be in helmets on all roads. So glad you guys are having so much fun. Badlands is a great place brought back memories seeing your video. Thank you for that memory jog. ❤

Love the camping spot, what a beautiful view!
Also really cool that you found a fossil! 👍

It looked like Rue was checking out the buffalo. 😅That would have been a rude awakening... 😂 Be careful!

So different than my experience at the Badlands. I went in October and drove through the entire park and only saw one other person the whole time. It really felt like being on another planet. Unfortunately I didn't see any bison either.

The first time we went to Yosemite, we took our mountain bikes. The day we arrived at the park, we parked our truck and rode our bikes everywhere. We didn't drive again until we were leaving. It was the absolute best way to visit.

Yup, bikes make for a truly unique experience that you just don't get in a cage. I rode through Glacier 2yrs ago and it was absolutely stunning! Plus, parking is ALWAYS easier to find.

I rode Honda Gold Wing motorcycles for years. We rode through many of the National Parks including Yellowstone several times. There is nothing like view all the sights from the seat of a motorcycle. The open view enhances the experience. I know you went through the Black Hills and look forward to your experiences there.

Amazing video Sarah!! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your van? So we can hear how it sounds! 🙂

I just left that same boondocking area a week ago after staying there a week. One of my favorite boondocking spots.

That’s neat your in my state, South Dakota! I’ve stayed a few times in that camping area, the last time in April of this year. I also checked out the primitive campground in the park, but I didn’t stay. I have 4 dogs, that bark a lot. There were prairie dogs in the campground, and buffalo only a few hundred yards away. There was no fence to keep the Buffalo out. I just didn’t want to take the chance of something bad happening!
I hope you enjoyed your trip to the Black Hills.
