Deep in the woods of Charlestown, Rhode Island, overlooking a picturesque lake flanked by firepits and farm animals, there's a one of a kind restaurant with a buffet that's simply mind-blowing.The Nordic is a family owned and operated destination where a meal is almost mythological. We're talking unlimited lobster. Crab. Black Angus steaks. Cakes, pies, and ice cream sundaes. All together, there are more than a hundred high end items, and that's only part of the entire Nordic experience.

Amazing place. Worth every penny and then some. I have been a Chef for 32 years and this place blows the doors off any place I’ve ever seen. I thought the staff would get in your way and try to slow you down in every way possible to limit consumption. Quite the opposite actually. No games, no ploys, just amazing hospitality. To Hell with Disney folks, the Nordic Lodge is the happiest place on Earth bar none.

My fiancé and I saw the purple and black Phantom Gourmet car on Sunday when we came (drove in from MD). I was wondering if another segment was being filmed. This place is worth every penny. It’s ran like a well oiled machine by well trained helpful and polite individuals. He’s right, it’s a total experience. We spent well beyond the two hours here dining. Just the best buffet experience hands down. We’ve decided to make it a once a year date.

Was there several times in the late 70s and early 80s when it was Custy's located in North Kingston. Haven't been to the Nordic yet but plan to at some point in the future. I wonder if it's the same family that ran Custys?

$125 for the buffet is still cheaper than Nusr-et. The two hour time limit is no problem. If you can eat longer than two hours you need a psychologist and not a buffet.
