TOP 10 Greatest Piano Intros of all time

Here’s my Top 10 of the greatest piano intros from Elton John to The Beatles and from Bruce Hornsby to Billy Joel with famous songs like Imagine, Don’t stop believing, Your Song and many more.

It actually was quite tough to put this top 10 together cause there were so many great songs that should also be in the list…so I had to make some choices. Some are my personal favorite, some because of their popularity and some because they just had to be there…

I hope you agree in some points and I picked some of the songs that you know and like.

All the songs in the video were played live on my Korg Kronos 88 with various piano sounds I especially created for these songs.

"The Way It Is"/"Changes" always gives me goosebumps.

Bohemian Rhapsody isn't technically an intro, since it's in the middle of the song, but it's one of my favourite piano lines of all times. I'd replace it with Bridge Over Troubled Water

I think Don’t Stop Believe is definitely in consideration for the greatest song opening of all time. The Way It is also. Amazing work, brother!

"Piano Man" might be in my top 3 piano intros to a song of all-time. If it were up to me, I'd have thrown "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Tiny Dancer" or "Daniel" (both are great in their own rights), and "New York State of Mind" (to me an even better introduction than in "Piano Man", which outlines virtually the whole of the first verse, before Billy comes on with his vocals). Great selection.
PS: as a bonus, I'd also mention "People Ain't No Good" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
