Unmarked cars help MSP catch distracted drivers

I constantly yell at people using there phone while driving and they always get so mad. Or if there’s someone behind me in traffic or even better a stop light I’ll wait till they finally look up and I’ll wait a lil more then move on and they get mad at me. Don’t get me started when I see a parent on there phone with kid(S)! In the car. I’ll yell out your phone is going to kill your kids but probably not you do that’s ok right!!!??? I guess they love there phone more then there own children!!!

I do not know how Michigan's distracted driving laws are written, but if you can get a ticket for turning your head or looking down to change the A/C setting, the CD song #, put your childs binky in their mouth then that is RIDICULOUS! Here is the thing about "distracted driving" laws, they do not have to prove the driving was bad. Cops are THE MOST distracted drivers there are. Light boxes, siren switched, computers, radio mics, looking for violators, looking for suspects, squinting to read an expiration tag, etc, etc, etc. Accidents are likely up because they are addressing a myth instead of enforcing things like improper turning (left turn into far right lane, right turn into left lane)and tailgating. Remember, speeding, all by itself, has never caused an accident. It makes accidents and damage worse, but unless combined with poor roads or a 2nd cause, speed does not cause accidents. Spending a day writing speeding tickets and never a following too close or improper lane change does nothing to curtail accident numbers.
