China and Russia "share similar goals," President Xi Jinping said in a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Monday during at the start of a three-day state visit to Moscow. The visit follows Putin's arrest warrant for war crimes. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Xi's visit shows China’s intent to provide “diplomatic cover” for Russian crimes in Ukraine. China has framed the visit as a "journey of peace," but Western leaders have expressed skepticism about Beijing's role as a peacemaker. Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio is headed to Ukraine on Tuesday to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. CNN's Kristie Lu Stout reports.
