Go learn about trauma, intractable conflicts and and and then take big 5 watch Jordan’s lecture on concientiousness and authoritarians and esp right wing authoritarians and you realize, there is no way the Christian concept of God fits into any of that.

It's simpler to not even waste your time arguing with them. They don't want to listen to any viewpoint that doesn't align with theirs anyway.

Due to too many (back to back) ads I gave this one a “dislike”

When intellectuals refuse to debate or converse you no longer become an intellectual but a fanatic

The problem I see with him is he dosent seem to understand polarity managment. You will understand the capitalism vs socialism is really the polarity between the ONE VS THE WHOLE polarity. If you ignore balancing one polarity in a country, you build pressure and rebellion as pressure builds and the primary sides ills cause it to eventually switch. Things go back and forth through history, only thing we can do is manage things better through a both/and lens instead of an either/or one.

This is to train people to win an argument rather then arriving at something resembling a form of truth. Emphasizing the advantages and don‘t speaking about the shortcomings of capitalism is just not feasible. It brought us to where we are right now. A totally messed up world that‘s about to collapse, with people who still argue that capitalism is the savior of the world, when it is just one of the destroyers. Socialism isn’t the savior either. And neither is postmodernism.

Hicks' debate with Thaddeus Russell was really good (assuming you can stomach debates).

This isnt a good video. I wanted to know more about postmodernism and you start talking about capitalism vs socialism, economic ideologies that are black and white. Capitalism in the USA is full of plastic food, turns people into corporate robots, and makes people into soulless psychopaths. Socialism fails to take into account individuality, pushes doewn the strength of humans, and racks up too much debt.

I was expecting a rebuke of post modernist values, its subjectivity, and lack of a soul. Also postmodernism's detachment from reality and faith

There’s no point engaging with the WOKE. I nod in agreement and quickly excuse myself.

As soon as he starts with the neomarxist stuff I get frustrated because conservatives act like socialism can’t learn and evolve and that some how it hasn’t changed. They also don’t recognize the difference between their stories of authoritarian socialism (there is also authoritarian capitalism too) Which their stories are about from history, that’s socialism from the top, and then there is democratic socialism which is socialism from the bottom. And he also ignores the whole democracy at work movement. Plus, if the ussr would have not gotten in the Cold War and wasted so many resources and just implemented competitive socialism, it’s likley that they would have been successful. It’s the rights interest for you to see socialism as something that can’t learn, can’t change, and can never grow and develop. It’s a bogey man trigger word that gets attatched to everything that dosent primarily hold the interests of the 1% who own 75% of the stock market.

Do any of you (commenters, presenter) know what postmodernism is? Why do you insist on bandying the term about as though it's synonymous with both far-left politics and social liberalism?

When the Civil War starts between those fighting to perserve American Democracy and those who want to turn America into theocracy which side are you willing to die for?

“We need to be the party of nationalism and I’m a Christian, and I say it proudly, we should be Christian nationalists.” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) “I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk – that’s not in the Constitution.” Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) Lauren Boebert calls for laws to enforce "biblical citizenship training" in our schools.

“We’re not bending the knee to the two percent anymore, ” said Andrew Torba, founder of the right-wing-friendly social platform Gab, referring to Jewish people in the United States. Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser, told a Christian gathering last November, “If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion. One nation under God and one religion under God.” The 10-year-old Ohio girl who crossed state lines to receive an abortion in Indiana should have carried her pregnancy to term and would be required to do so under a model law written for state legislatures considering more restrictive abortion measures, according to the general counsel for the National Right to Life. Former President Donald Trump said during a speech on Saturday that "Americans kneel to God" alone, as the concept of Christian nationalism continues to gain traction among conservatives. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is attended a rally in Pennsylvania with state Sen. Doug Mastriano. Mastriano has praised Andrew Torba, the founder of Gab and a self-described Christian nationalist. Desantis is the most insidious of them all because he knows better.

Jesus is the mascot of the Trump-Republican Taliban! When the Civil War starts will you choose America or Theocracy?

Hicks has largely been discredited as an ideologue, or a partisan at the very least, and presenting post modernism like this as if it can all be encapsulated to the motivations of a few thinkers -creates an inaccurate impression to those who’ve never read any Pomo.

People should read it for themselves, because post modernism is not evil, and it has sone extremely valuable contributions to make.

To turn what Hicks is saying on its head, how does one find some way of getting rid of the logic of the postmodernist sceptical challenge in order to elevate a subjective commitment to an anti-sceptical epistemology which I want to be true to the status of truth?
