From Moralism, Emotionalism & The Prosperity 'Gospel' to the True Gospel...My Testimony

This is the story of how I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour - of how I became a Christian.

My journey as a Christian is ongoing. I've told my testimony many times on the internet, but always stopped at a certain point that happened almost five years ago. I see now that the events of the past couple of years have been immensely significant and need to be included in my testimony. I got wrapped up in Moralism, Emotionalism and The Prosperity Gospel - then I came to understand God's grace. Here's my imperfect retelling of my story. Glory be to God.

This made me weep as it reminded me about my conversion!! I relate to how you felt when you realised what the true Gospel was- that it was a great exchange, our sin put onto Him and His righteousness accredited to us! Where love and justice meet. Praise the Lord that I will see you in Heaven, worshipping the Lord for all eternity! May He keep you and bring you unspeakable levels of joy that comes with worshipping the Creator, and may He continue to grow you in the conforming to the image of Christ. Amen

Hi Lydia, amazing video as always! I always appreciate your transparency, it's so sobering to listen to honesty and the truths of the Gospel when everyday we are so surrounded by ideals of the world. I really relate to your testimony. I'm in my 2nd year of my degree now and I recall being younger and wishing I could rush ahead to university so I could control what I ate and no one could stop me, how incredible and beautiful it is that God found me at university and so truly saved me from a life of misery and struggle. I've just gotten back from my CU weekend away (Andy Bannister was our guest speaker!!!) and I have just been so reminded of God's love and the fruitfulness of life when you live for His glory! ❤ Have a wonderful week Lydia, thank you for sharing your testimony.

Sister, thank you for this video. Love to hear your testimony and how God has taught you truth about himself. Praise Jesus for his work of salvation! Love to hear your reflections on the prosperity gospel and suffering, and thanks be to God that he gives us himself as comfort in our suffering, and that our joy abounds in him no matter what we are experiencing. Yes, the Bible helps us build a Christ-like and a positive mindset, but it can also be convicting because it shows that God is holding us accountable for our sins (in THE BEST WAY possible).
