Creating a Rejuvenation Biotechnology Industry

In this excerpt from his presentation at the 2011 SENS5 conference, SENS Research Foundation CEO Mike Kope explains SRF's strategic plans and long-term goal of creating a rejuvenation biotechnology industry. He likens the Foundation to a 'switchboard' that will connect such disparate groups as the public, the government, philanthropists, academia, and the biotechnology industry. By bringing these groups together, SRF will drive progress towards effective treatments for the diseases of aging. These treatments will be generated by the new rejuvenation biotechnology industry and will be guided by the SRF paradigm: the idea that age-related diseases are, in fact, caused by a small but intertwined set of categories of cellular and molecular damage.
