Why Dead Space 4 Was Cancelled

The Dead Space franchise dominated the late 2000’s and early 2010's video game space. The series blended survival horror with thrilling action. All while creating a world and story that players wanted to uncover. So what happened? Visceral Games did have plans to develop Dead Space 4 after Dead Space 3 was released in 2013. But it never became anything more than ideas. Let’s break down why Dead Space 4 was cancelled, and everything we know about the game & Visceral’s original plan.

Just bought this on steam having never played it and holy crap, it's a masterpiece. It was definitely ahead of its time and everything about it blew me away, the gameplay, mechanics, music, atmosphere. I'm going to try Dead Space 2 now!

What EA should do as of now would be:
+ Remastering of Dead Space 1-3 in one big package (all fixes, high res textures, enhanced graphics, & all contents). I can guarantee it will sell well. Maybe also reviving DS2 multiplayer as co op horde mode & DS3 with AI partner for full experience on story & co-op campaign.

+ Remaster or maybe soft remake "Dead Space: Extraction" into a normal FPS format & VR implemented. This would be a good variety as not many people played this game & first person perspective in Dead Space would be scary af & great overall.

+ Dead Space 4 should be soft reboot that will feature 2 playable characters, Isaac Clarke & Ellie Langford, but from different starting points. Carver is missing & we also get to meet "Lexine Murdoch, " as the key/important character of the story. Both Isaac & Ellie will be alone most of the time (just like DS1 & DS2), both they will help each other via different choices that led through different paths (levels). The game levels will be a semi open maze metroidvania world in both on earth & space.

A lot of us didn't even know dead space 3 was made or coming out. I just walked in to game stop and saw the cardboard poster 😲 I asked right away when it was coming out? They told me it was already for sale. Clerk said It wasn't very popular. I responded. No shit! I didn't see any 📺 commercials like with the first 2.

Bro i just finished playing dead space twice like 3 weeks ago and I just finished dead space 2 in hard core within 3 days and to this day it is still scary and fun to play. I really wish dead space 4 comes out and continue with the story to give it a proper ending, just imagine the graphics man 7 years later and with barely any horror games out there now, the sales will go crazy!

This was easily the best game I ever played back in the day.

In many games when the set piece happens the hero acts like a badass and faces the bosses head on but in dead space 2 when that happens it's the opposite the hero tries to evade the boss and survive and that's why the set pieces in DS2 were more balanced and didn't felt generic. In my opinion it's the perfect balance between horror and action.
