Chemist in training here, the spray has oleophobic properties but the term for water reppeling would be hydrophobic the reason it also works for water is that the spray also has hydrophobic properties.

Edit: The term Oleophobic means Oil "reppeling", for a substance which is able to stop any fluid the term omniphobic is used.

Edit 2: I looked at the website of the company producing this spray, and the only thing they state about the used compound is "a silicon dioxide".
I may not know enough yet but as far as my knowledge goes, theres only one silicon dioxide.
Also Silicon dioxide is the main component in sand and thereby glass.

Step 1 - buy large plastic bag
Step 2 - climb into plastic bag
Step 3 - pull bag over head
Step 4 - seal bag
And in 4 easy steps you will be totally waterproof for the rest of your life. (Duration varies based on how long you can hold your breath)
