I learned a few trick from one of my teachers when I was taking tutoring classes. one trick To figure out the signs from a binomial x^2+6x+8, is to take the first sign (+) bring it down for one of your binomials then multiple it by your second sign which in this example is also a (+), positive times positive equal a positive so the signs for your second binomial and first are positive (x+ )(x+ ).


So if one sign was negative, negative times negative will equal a positive sign for one of your binomial.

(+)(+)=+
(-)(-)=+
(-)(+)=-

For the set of three questions at the end, the last question, wouldn't it be 12x^2 + 30x^2 + 12? The reason I ask is because 4x * 6 is 24x, and 2 * 3x is 6x, so 24x + 6x = 30x^2? You have 2 x's left over, right?
