Does nerves and anxiety kill your ability to make more putts on the golf course ? Do you three putt often?
Do you have the yips?

All good points on putting Matt! Tension has ruined a lot of shots in golf. I think my main problem is that I don't take enough time over these putts! "Taking it for granted" that I am going to make the putt is also ruinous. I like your message and delivery Matt and have become a new subscriber. Will now check out your library! Good Job Matt!

I must try this. I'll never tire of improving my game. I was pretty decent when I was in my twenties, yet I'm pretty sure that the 55 year old present day me can beat the pants off the twenty-five year old me .The game is still fun!! Life goes by pretty fast but dammit, this game is still a blast!! In thirty years I hope to have the same attitude. I'll leave a comment on my 85th birthday. To anyone who reads this, keep at it and have fun. That's what it's all about. God wants you to enjoy yourself.

Cheers. My nemesis, have started missing really short putts, usually by pulling them.

Such a mind game golf….you stand over a 15 foot putt completely relaxed because you’re not reeaaally expecting to sink it….but stand over a 4 footer and you freeze because you really do expect to sink it….bastard game!

Yes the head is the hardest part of anything on the golf course, more so on the putting green. Thanks for the tips and if I sink and extra couple more of those shorties I'll be bragging about all over the course.

The touring pros of today are ALL phenomenal short putters. It seems that they essentially take themselves out of the putt. And by so doing it appears that they all keep their heads very still these days. Key to this is they all seem to release the putter (let it swing). And this results in lots of speed on the ball like Brad Faxon did all of his golfing career. Also note how none of them roll the putter head to the left going through the ball, This is something one can learn to do using Tiger's right hand only drill. You get both the release itself and learn to go under and not around. Tiger has used this religiously for a long time, and still does. 5 and 5, all the time.

Great advice! Breathing! I always forget! Hope it works well fpr me this arvo as I had 5 x 3 putts yesterday that destroyed a good day of ball striking.

I only ever play against par. Never the people I play with. Nobody beats me because I never play nervous

Just accept that you’re going to miss some of them. And that will help you relax. And then by relaxing, you might have a better chance in making it!

Yup, most the time when I miss important short birdie puts in my skin’s matches I stand over the ball way to long thinking about it. When I have a 6 ft put to save par that doesn’t even mater I’ll line up quicker & drill em 😂🤦‍♂️.

Thanks for the tips but I seem to have lost all control of the muscles on my wrist and arms so I'll either tap it and it'll go nowhere or I'll hit it too hard and it'll go 5 feet past the hole, I have absolutely no idea what has gone wrong😏

Missed several putts inside 3 feet in 2 rounds this week, ironically holed a number of longer ones. Going to try the exhale tip and see if it helps.

I will definitely try the exhale trick next time out. Tension always is a factor for me anyway. Which can easily be explained every time I miss a putt when it matters, and afterwards hitting that same putt now that it’s meaningless and it goes right in just like it should. Wish I could always putt like that second attempt life would be so much better. 😂

Another Tip - I noticed that 90% of my misses were to the right, so after I set up for my putt I make an adjustment and aim slightly more left than normal. Since I recognized my right misses, my success at making more putts has greatly increased
