Not to mention that Blender has much better and easier modelling tools thanks to its non destructive modifiers, and a faster rendering engine with EEVEE

6:10 - NOPE ... Blender no longer has its own game engine.
UPBGE is separated from the Core Blender Engine. Hopefully one day, UPBGE will get developed enough to rival engines like Unreal.

Max and Maya can be brought for £360 a year if you are an indie artist not the full price As you have stated in the video.

and the award for the biggest blender fangirl goes guy, it would be interesting to know what your background in the motion picture industry is, cause you seem to exist in a fantasy world, where one day the world will wake up and suddenly change their whole workflow to something that needs massive clean up when modelling, adds a ridiculous amount of extra steps to do things that could be done much simpler, the array modifier for instance, no radial array who writes an array modifier and doesn't add a radial array to thats right blender developers do, when blender stops trying to be different for the sake of being different maybe it'll find a place in the industry.

I can see it taking completely over at some point where Max is used. Not specialized and a lot lighter. It has a long way to go to make companies with millions in integrations and workflow fully replace software especially when it’s crunch time after crunch time, but absolutely on the smaller scale we’re well into the transition era. If it were easier for companies to drop in their proprietary pipeline maybe that would be enough to overcome the inherent coupling of Max to Maya and replace it.

love your stuff and youre spot on however. @8:49 thats not fully true. a developer can become a high end sponsor and get direct contact / support from a dedicated tech lead at blender proper. I've looked into it and I'm considering making that move with so many of my staff moving to Blender, I'd rather get that type of support AND a marketing tool to boot ( blender also advertises your project) if i'm going to shell out $$$ and i'd still save. our autodesk bill is over 20K a renewal

what you are saying about plugins is completly wrong, addons in blender are just made in python, other dccs are just calling them scripts and they are as easy to create as for blender.
Now what we call real plugin are in c++, but also that is much easier to do in lets say Maya because it has a true API, in blender if you want to do anything serious you need to recompile the whole shit it's a pain in the ass.
Imagine WETA with all the specific tools they have inside maya and houdini each tool is a seprate modul/plugin much easier to maintain, you just compile the plugin you need to update.
