On a document library, can you have columns only visible in certain folders/sub-folders? I have a library with a number of different folders and some folders need certain columns while others do not. It's not helpful that once I create one column in the whole document library it is then visible in every folder throughout.

Would love to see you explore "Metadata Navigation and Filtering" from "Site Features". I can get a Filters pane to semi-configure, which is handy - however the folder specific and choice column specific views don't appear to be working in Modern SharePoint (and I haven't bothered to check if they still work in classic...)

Hello! If you hide columns, will it also be the same for others (hidden for others)?

Can you restrict visibility to specific columns? E.g. Mary sees all columns, John can only see columns A & B.

Hello! Do you know how to hide a column in the parent folder, but it shows in the sub-folder? I've been struggling to find the solutions. Thank you.
