Thank you for the tutorial! I couldn't figure out where the black streaking was coming from, at first, since you hadn't applied black finish. Then I realized it was from the blotching. I wondered why you didn't spend much time or pre-stain during that process and thought it was just due to editing (which was great and so much better than time lapse) but I guess it is by design? I am so used to shooting for, and never achieving, a zero blotch finish, it wouldn't have occurred to me that it could be used to one's advantage. Neither would it have occurred to me that a grayish finish could be achieved with a walnut base. Thanks, again, for the great info.
