I actually thought that Chloe was the ghost protecting her past self but it was so sweet to find out it was her brother 😢

Tyler revealed himself in the mirror to his mother. She heard that high pitch noise coming from the mirror and was drawn to it. She saw her son in the reflection. Then she knew he was the presence all along. He is able to move on after that.

This movie surprised me, i thought it was gonna be jumpscare infested but nope. Its actually a light family drama/ghost story. Really enjoy the movie.

There was a mistake on my ended calling the friend Rebecca when her name was actually Nadia. Sorry for the mistake and hope I didn’t cause confusion

I really love the theory of the Ghost actually being the brother in another timeline. We don't really know what happens when you die and that is really terrifying and sad at the same time. Like the whole time the Dad was saying he didn't protect his sister when in fact he was protecting her the whole time. Great theory.

The only minor gripe I had with the movie was relating to the "bad thing" the Mum had been doing at work.

This sub-plot was neither tied up, nor had any tangible affect on the plot or events....

Just got back home from seeing it. I’m not sure of the name of the friend she hardly knew, but her best friend who died was Nadia. 😉 I honestly really liked the perspective from the ghost! And seeing who was standing in the mirror at the end, it makes sense it was Tyler all along. Turning around when his sister was doing things in her room, trying to make amends for being mean to her, trying to be the “better man” that his dad said he knew was in there … it made more sense that it was him trying to protect his sister all along. I did think some dialogue in the movie seemed weird, but I definitely didn’t see the boyfriend being a serial killer as well as Tyler tackling him through the window. That part I was like … 😲 … because I was thinking it would be a fire in the house with the psychic saying a window that wouldn’t open. I can see some people not liking it because it’s slow paced and brings up some side plots we never get answers to. However, I still enjoyed this one by the end. 😁👍

Ghosts are not in the same timeline like us. This is why the brother was all the time.

Ryan telling Chloe that Tyler “has a mean streak” was pretty ironic considering that ending.

Spoilers

So the presence trashed the brother room and a few days later, dad tells his daughter, : girl I believe you feel some presents in here.
Like... Didn't you all see how it poltergeisted the whole room? Wtf

Also the ghost could move things around but when the psycho was trying to kill his sister he suddenly could not do s***. Really...

SPOILERS on my thoughts on the movie

There were a few allusions to Tyler being the presence in the story. The main 3 were:
1. During the conversation with his father outside after the ghost trashed his room, the dad told Tyler something along the lines of “Couldn’t you protect your sister, just once?”
2. Earlier in the movie after the dinner scene when Tyler half-heartedly apologized to his dad, the dad said “I know there’s a better man somewhere inside you.”
3. The psychic had said two things along the lines of:
“They don’t know who they are or what their purpose is yet. They’re…confused.”
“They don’t know WHEN they are. They’re experiencing time differently at all points at the same time maybe”

The theory that is: Tyler originally got drugged to sleep and Chloe was killed by Ryan who disguised it as an overdose. Tyler may have killed himself after or something of the sort since it seems like he’s attached to the house, particularly Chloe’s room.

As it’s stated by the psychic that he’s experiencing multiple periods of time at once, his ghost is there to be the “better man” and finally protect his sister “for once”. It was just confused and didn’t know its purpose until it saw Chloe get drugged and almost die.

This is the reason why when the ghost went downstairs to wake up Tyler, he IMMEDIATELY knew his purpose and that his sister was in danger. There wasn’t any “Where’s Ryan” or “What are you doing man?” Since, remember, at the dinner table Tyler glorified Ryan when he said “I’m not gonna let her ruin it for me like she did last year. I finally moved to a new school and I became friends with the most popular guy in school.” It’s odd that he immediately went ballistic, went upstairs, and threw himself out the window with Ryan.

All signs point to this being a sort of time loop, paradox, or alternate timeline where the ghost of Tyler goes back to try to protect his sister, which is why the ghost was particularly pissed whenever it heard of the stupid things he did like with the doggy shirt girl. And also the reason why he stayed with Chloe whenever Ryan was there, only turning away when they were having sex.

My favorite entity/ghost movie maybe ever

Tyler being The Presence makes sense when you consider that it would not watch when Chloe was having sex with Ryan. My only gripe with the movie was that The Presence could not stop Ryan from assaulting Chloe despite showing that it can manipulate things. Really enjoyed this movie though.

Was a great ghost story. I also loved, 'Stir Of Echo's.' Same writer.

I think it was Tyler trying to remember how he died now he knows and protecting he's sister

....I guess my one question is why didn't this presence stop the attempt at suffocation of Chloe by throwing books, or maybe physically shoving him off the bed as earlier in the film, it moved books off her bed, and then the trashing of the bedroom, proving it can interact with the physical world.

SPOILERS: I just got back from watching the movie, and I really enjoyed it. The ghost P.O.V. was done very well, and the actors were all great. The movie did leave me confused and wondering where it was all going, until the end, so I can't say it was predictable. I agree with you about the young actor who played Ryan. He reminded me physically of Leo DiCaprio from his early roles, especially with the blonde hair and slight build. His character was kind of smug and not very likable when he was introduced, so when he started getting chummy suddenly with Chloe, that was a red flag. I also think that Tyler was the presence all along. When Tyler's stuff, including his swimming trophies, went flying, I believe that was Tyler's ghost expressing its anger over how his potential was wasted by his sudden death. I definitely want to rewatch the movie sometime soon, and I'll be recommending it to my friends who are into the more paranormal side of horror and thrillers.

I just left the theater... SPOILER TALK* so her brother was the ghost all along right? Was the ghost/he watching his own life replay as a ghost, because he was actually alive through the entire film, or no? I loved it, but I'm lost on parts. What did the mother mean when she said " he came back to save you " ? I get he was the ghost, but was the mirror scene the only scene in actual present time or? What are yalls thoughts 👀 was the daughter actually the 2nd victim and this was her *2nd chance reincarnation right before death* ?
