Using Epoxy/ Resin Molds for Beginners

Materials:
(I would recommend pouring at least 40 ml of resin (20 of each part))

A note on measuring: Before you follow my video instructions completely, take a look at the instructions that come with your resin. At some point, I used a resin that was measured by weight and not volume. You should measure based on the instructions that come with your resin, either by volume or weight. Your instructions will also give you the mixing ratio. For Art Resin they recommend measuring by volume and to mix at a 1:1 ratio of hardener to resin.

I just started using resin for the first time today to make coasters. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!

If you do sand your resin, if you apply a coat of resin over the sanded surface (epoxy or UV) it will become shiny again. Also, mix your resin much slower and you won't end up with those teeny dust-like microbubbles, let alone larger ones. I'd recommend a 2:1 or 3:1 resin if bubbles are an issue because they are generally much lower viscosity. ArtResin is just simply way too thick for me to be satisfied with my pieces because they have so many bubbles in the finished product. Also, Amazon has packs of just the clips for pretty cheap if you're needing more!

Thank you so much for the tutorial. That helps so much with my fear of failure when I think of starting making Resin craft

I love using Art Resin. But you HAVE to make sure to mix for AT least 3 Minutes. Any less and it will not set all the way and it is such a waste. It happened to me once, so sad. The rest of my pieces have been great!

My first time here and this is fascinating. I used resin years ago and I'd like to get back into it.

I was looking on Etsy for some resin cups, and I was like, wow a lot of people sell these, I wonder if I could just do it myself? And the answer is yes and you've given me the confidence to do so. Thanks!

watched this video to help me understand resin a lil better before I try encapsulating my preying mantis that just passed away, he lived for over a year and he will look gorgeous in a resin mold

Love this video, I have a set of jewelry molds and glitter in my Amazon cart as we speak. What type of resin do you recommend? Your video said the Art Resin is technically not a casting resin. I am a newbie, excuse my ignorance but what does that mean by not a casting resin? For larger projects like molds for boxes, coasters etc. what would you recommend?

Don't throw the mixing cups just let the resin dry and take it off then you are ready to use the cup again 😊.. And one more thing don't use a hot glue you can use uav resin glue or some super glue it's better looking and more stronger 👍.. Amazing work btw keep it up ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you great video
I used 1:1 ratio art resin but 15ml each
I found my clips after several days to be flimsy and not hard after curing. Any suggestions to avoid that happen again? Appreciate feedback 😊

I know you mentioned about the respiratory protection but I wanted to put out there that I would recommend to use a respiratory protector so you won’t get sick or even worse.

I'm a first time resin artist. Today I made a small bunch of items. It's a hot day outside, but I had to work out there so the resin fumes don't bother my cat and I. Will the heat outside have any effect on my items as they cure? Also, I don't know for sure if I stirred the 2 liquids for a full 3 minutes. What will happen if they don't set properly? Will they be salvageable or garbage? I have a heat gun. Could I melt them down and start again? Thank you for the tutorial. I wish I had seen it before I started. Wish me luck!?

Hey I just wanted to ask when this would dry? Oh and! I don’t really have a mold so I was wondering if there is a possibility you can make them at home

TFS Karley! That first glitter is my absolute favorite ❤️ Do you think one could find small letters to put inside the molds?
