This animation almost made me cry its such a shock to see the Sonic lore and characters prepresented properly within the game canon

At 4:30 I thought knuckles was flying for a sec but he’s just gliding it’s awesome that this is probably the first time we see knuckles use his ability in animation

I like how in the gameplay footage, it took Sonic multiple hits to take down the ninjas while for Knuckles, it only takes one or two. Bros strength is crazy

Dude the fact that they actually use the lore and reference previous games already shows how much more in touch Ian Flynn is with the fan base than the previous writers I love it so much

It’s satisfying having an actual reason for Knuckles to be in the story, along with how his characterization is on point. If this carries over to the game, we could have the best Sonic story ever, period. Also yes the visuals are pure eye candy, color me surprised that this along with the prequel comic are solid enough to make people excited for Frontiers. Now I can’t wait to see where it picks up in the game, it’s up to Sonic Team to deliver on their promises now, I can’t wait to get my hands on the game and play now!

Knuckles is SOOOO well written and voiced here. Really shows you the impact of Flynn’s writing. I also CANNOT wait to find out about the back story of the emeralds. I’ve been wanting to know that ever since I became a Sonic fan!

What if Angel Island originally was part of the Starfall islands, the original tribe was that ancient tribe of this game and the Echidna took their island and build a village where the Master Emerald is and they tried to take the Emerald power when it isn't belong to them, Perhaps that is why the Master Emerald created Chaos, it chose a Chao to protect his brothers and the temple from the Echidnas who tried to invade it, but allowed the entrance of Tikal's grandmother and then Tikal since they they were of pure heart unlike the rest of the Echidna, after the invasion of the Echidnas, Perfect Chaos destroyed the village but not all the Echidnas, they only saw in Chaos hatred and destruction before he was locked inside the Master Emerald, the surviving Echidnas mistakenly thought that Chaos was a god, punishing them for being power hungry, giving him the name of the god of destruction because it is the only thing they ever saw of him, the survivors made the mural of Chaos destroying the world and they take the job of protecting the Master Emerald so that it would not fall into the wrong hands and this would not be repeated, but this knowledge was lost in time, remaining only as it is a duty without knowing why they had to do this, Knuckles being the last descendant of that line and the last of his race

Yeah, this was surprisingly loaded, and finally revealing the Emeralds' origins after 30 years is very interesting. I'm sure Frontiers' story and writing will be a home run

This prologue got me thinking about the main theme of the game "I'm Here" and how the line "Can you hear the spirits sing lost messages of long ago?" could as well be referring to the Kocos and the Ancients... what suddenly got me in the middle of the thought was how in-game - you don't really see the Koco anywhere until you've stopped to take a look.

Gave me adventure vibes sooo much man. They really acknowledging the adventure 1 story. As well as seeing knuckles do his finisher from sonic heroes. The lore is going to be interesting too. I’m thinking that Tikal is coming back in this game, if that’s the case OH MY GOD. Gotta get used to the knuckles voice.

Is anyone actually shocked that the best Sonic short ever made is a Hesse, Flynn, and Stanley effort. They are seriously the ones in the fandom that know how to do Sonic justice.

This was so good, animation is fantastic (I want to see a sonic series like this) and the music is beautiful. Makes me happy seeing Knuckles shine. At first he wasn’t my one of my favourite characters but over time I really appreciate and enjoy him, this gets me so hype too, so many questions… all the references too are real nice. ❤

Ian is such a good writer and the others too of course if anything the story is what I am most excited for like are we about the learn the origins of the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds? Are the Ancients connected to the Echidna Tribe? So many questions are popping up that I hope get answered well we will see in a week
