Foot Bath SCAM. Learn the truth!
The metal in the black array is cheap, impure metal that dissolves into the water, causing it to look disgusting. People think this stuff comes from their feet. Most of it just comes from the MADE IN CHINA metal. Only pure, surgical metal should be used for a foot cleansing process.

I thought it was probably the water reacting with the metal in the machine. So I purchased a bottle of distilled water, and went to one of these chinese places where I normally have my foot detox spas. I insisted they use the distilled water that I had. And after my session in the foot detox spa, the water was completely clear. I never had another one again. Unfortunately, I was quite sick at the time and had wasted hundreds of dollars of my welfare payments.

I've made tests and sent them to the lab for content analysis. It is true that the salts and water will react and create discolored water. On the other hand there is more than the color of the water to consider. The chemical analysis will show a difference and will vary from person to person. One way is to use a double ion detox system. Use the same water and two identical foot bath tubs and the same water source, place the electrode in the first tub with only the water (no feet) and use the second tub with electrode and feet. After say a 30 minute treatment (make sure both sides had the identical negative/positive settings) place the discolored water without the feet in a jar labeled a) and the discolored water + feet in jar b). You will see the difference with metal contents and what ever else you may request from the lab. Another test is simply take a PH strip to verify the level of acidity vs alkaline in the urine both before and after the treatment, you will also see a significant difference. This may give you a different perspective based on more than just a visual evaluation.

I wish more people would see this before they get taken in by this trick.  I saw this footbath and was intrigued.  Luckily, I looked up how this works and wasn't taken in.  The salesperson I saw told me that the results differ from "patient to patient" but I read that's because of whatever is on the "patient's" foot - bath oil, lotion, powder can influence the color/results.  Don't get fooled!

does it just strip away the steel or metal of the ionizer?

I wonder if the colour is caused by hexavalent chromate... Which happens to be a carcinogenic by product of electrolysis when stainless steel electrodes are used.

That is very disturbing I have had this done before and the tub NEVER looked like that. I was able to try it out for free so it was some sort of scam done on my ( by my parent by the way). but yeah if that is was had happened in my experienec I would have never done it more than once.
