She wanted to keep him to the side to see if he "improved" while she tries other guys and then she would swoop back. Didnt work out that way because OP kicked her to the curb after the breakup. Now it is possible if you just werent compatible and it ended amicibly, but what she did was not one of those, especially once he realizes she was planning it for months. She was gonna string him along.

--- I wager ex-fiancee thought when she broke up with him because of his job hours, he would cave and quit his job to keep her. OP didn't cave, much to her dismay. Laura was hurting because although she didn't want OP, she expected him to plead for her to not leave him. Cousin Chris can hang with Laura all he wants, because ya'll are not a couple any more. Get over it OP, you played into Laura's plan to cause drama. If you had not voiced your unhappiness and had been nonchalant, Laura would have dumped Chris like yesterday's trash.
