Mark Hamill is such an amazing guy he's absolutely one of the most down to earth, pure and honest celeberties ever . A true nerd as well.

If I ever could meet one actor in Hollywood, it would definitely be Mark Hamill. Ever since I was a young kid, he’s been my role model on and off screen. p.s. Great interview! :)

They should NEVER replace Carrie....she IS Leia....nobody else would ever be watched by or accepted as Leia for me

This might be frostys best interview in a long time. More of this please! No swearing or being silly just two people having a great conversation.

I imagined a scene where Kylo is by himself, and we hear the Imperial march, then it slowly merges with Leia' theme as an unseen force brush's Ben's hair out of his face (or something to that affect). Without actually seeing or hearing Leia, we have a scene between Ben and Leia, no dialogue at all, just through Adam Driver's reactions, miming an interaction with his mother, and John Williams (think, Ghost with Patrick Swayze) Having a final Leia appearance without actually showing or saying anything I think would be really interesting and unexpeteced

I think he is better to be Doctor Octopus, to have a main villain role rather than a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, unless he voices or is High Evolutionary

I personally think that Carrie would want them to do what's best for the character and the next movie. If they really did save a moving and powerful story arc for Leia for ep 9, wouldn't it be more disrespectful to just write her out instead? I think in that case recasting is the best option and using practical effects and makeup to imitate Carrie is the way to go, rather than the weird uncanny valley cgi thing they did in Rogue One. That's just my opinion though

I don’t mean to be that asshole, and I know it’s just a character, but i feel it’d actually be very disrespectful to Carrie’s legacy to recast her. I understand it was Lucas and the other bts workers who created the character, but Carrie’s feisty, energetic talent is what brought it to life. She made Leia into arguably the most iconic female character in all of cinematic history. For virtually any other character / film franchise, I’d say yes, the character is bigger than the actor. However, for this case, I think it is different. I as well think many fans would dislike the idea of a recast. I love Carrie with all my heart, as weird as that may sound being she is “just a famous person.” I would be incredibly disappointed if it were to happen that way.

Mark IS Mr Star Wars...his unrelenting enthusiasm for the Saga is so heartwarming ..he is always so gracious to talk about his involvement in the Franchise. I was so pleased to see him awarded a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.. well deserved in my opinion.

Great interview and it is always a treat to listen to Mark Hamill! I have been a fan of Mark since I was a young kid watching the original Star Wars and still think Mark is great. I hope he ends up being in Episode 9 in some way and that we see him in the MCU. That would be excellent!

All these people saying anyone that's a good actor can play that part are fools . You can't recast her. Carrie Fisher is Princess Leia. It's like if Robert Downey Jr. would of passed away right before filming Avengers 4. Recasting him would be blasphemous. I wonder if it's the younger crowd that think it's OK. And by younger I mean under 40?..🤔

Something they might be able to do:

I think we have to assume that there would have been time shared by Leia and Ben had Carrie lived. There has to be a way Leia could leave her mark on Ben and make a difference.

Suppose just as a for instance that Hux figures out that Kylo killed Snoke and puts him on trial for treason via miliary tribunal. Kylo is sentenced to life in prison, to die there because Hux wants him to suffer.

So while on a remote planet somewhere in jail. Ben feels and sees through the Force that the First Order has struck somewhere (the could just show a ship blowing up, nothing else). He knows his mother is dead, and that the First Order did it. He goes crazy with grief and rage. Rey senses this somewhere in the galaxy, and weeps for him. With his mother dead at the First Order's hands, and Rey in danger, from the same, Ben has had enough, He busts his way out (an echo of Rogue One Vader), and goes to Rey to help her, as she went to him in The Last Jedi. Plus Rey can tell him that his mother would not have wanted him to give in to anger and revenge.

Make Lt. Connix the Resistance leader (I know Poe is being set up for it but honestly he just doesn't exhibit that sort of tactical mind that a leader should have). Have the plot be about Leia having set a plan in motion to take down the First Order once and for all and the Resistance does it in her honor. That way she's still very relevant to what happens and her memory is honored through the characters on screen as well. I think it would be beautiful to have both the audience and characters on screen sharing that emotion.

It's a catch 22. I think most of us would hate to see her recast, but I think we also want to see her story told in full and give her the ending she deserves. And if CGI or hologram recreation is out of the question, I don't see any other way her story can be finished without doing a recast. If she had met her end when she was blown into space, then we wouldn't have to worry about this right now. I have a feeling that was supposed to be the end, but was probably changed up during filming.

Who else wants Luke’s force ghost to interact with Anakin’s force ghost (the Hayden Christensen one)?
