Germany Plans To Cut Benefits To Migrants | Ian Collins x Ben Habib

Chancellor Scholz is to cut benefits to migrants who enter Germany if they're coming from another EU member first. Ben Habib joins Ian Collins on Talk to discuss the move.

While both seems to be encouraged by the plan, Ben has he'll believe it when he sees it. Germany has historically been one of the most liberal countries in the EU on the subject of immigration.

Ben points out that one of the principle parts of the EU is freedom of movement, meaning that it's very easy for people to cross national borders. The borders that are meant to protect us.

Ian makes the point that Keir Starmer has been very quiet on what he will do to tackle illegal immigration in the UK.

That is what they should do in the UK, they should also say no citizenship if you have come illegally, and no way to of making your status legal ever. You need to have a legit address to open a bank account, make their lives difficult, you will then see that there is no incentives to come to the UK. Lock up all these lawyers who are ambulance chasers trying to make life difficult for the country.
