While we encourage first aid training, and preparedness, there are some things like a TBI that require a medical professional's opinion.
If you suspect that someone has a traumatic brain injury (TBI), it is essential to seek higher level of care right away. Even if the person seems fine, some TBIs may not show symptoms immediately, and can be life-threatening if left untreated. A TBI can cause various symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, memory loss, and difficulty concentrating, which can worsen over time. If a TBI is left untreated, it can lead to severe brain damage, disability, or even death. Therefore, it is critical to seek medical attention as soon as possible to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment. A healthcare professional can perform a physical examination, imaging tests, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the extent of the injury and recommend appropriate treatment, which may include medication, surgery, rehabilitation, or rest.

GREAT VIDEO!!! I have no experience with spotting this but I found out my love was having a health issue when he wasn't able to say a sentence once and then was rude. It was sort of slurred and gibberish. Then he yelled IM FINE LEAVE ME ALONE. I didn't... thankfully. It VERY quickly escalated to a full on emergency and the hospital said he was basically starting to die and his organs were shutting down as he is a diabetic and he had woken up and in a groggy state took his insulin twice with no food in him so he doubled down when he was already at a fasting low. He was beyond dangerously low at that point, he was shutting down. His body temperature did not even register on the ER's equipment. They actually made me leave the room at one point stating "we will do everything we can" as a medical staff escorted me out. Thank YHWH he lived after the ER saved him and they then admitted him until his body found normal again. ANY TIME SOMEONE SEEMS OFF, BE AWARE!!! I had another time at work years ago and someone was being very rude and mean to people. Turns out he was having a diabetic high. Was not an emergency but just another indicator that when someone is not acting "themselves" you should start asking questions or be very aware at the least in the event it escalates. I think its strokes too that can have some early indicators the person suffering may not know but other around them can see it. Anyway, great vid, thanks!!

Good to know! If something like tht happened around here, out local First Responders and possibly the EMS would get here before the Sheriff's department would. You might also IF possible while it's very hot, move them to a cooler area aka shade to help them cool down and rest before help arrives.

As a Vol.FF/EMT in an oil refinery, I responded to a “Man down due to an explosion”. I was 1st on scene. I employed C-Spine and started primary survey. Within 5 minutes there were at least 7 EMTs working on this guy. When the ParaMedic arrived, I told him to “Check his eyes…He needs to fly !!!” The ParaMedic later told me, “Good Call “… A month post-explosion I learned that the victim lost his left eye, all hearing, and his speech had digressed to the level of a 3 year old, both verbally and intellectually…! There was also a long list of other less serious physical injuries as well. But this TBI really stood out. This accident happened to a contract processor that is associated with the process unit I worked on before retirement…

Dealing with that right now. Late last month a very close family member was involved in a near fatal MVA. He’s been in a level 1 trauma unit since, fighting to survive. We’re praying, hoping he can recover well. Still can’t assess how serious his TBI is, but it’s been a rough SHTF since. 😔
